京極夏彥--塗佛之宴: 備宴

there are some things i can not sustain in my life.
among them, reading an unfinished novel would certainly takes the lead of the list.

yes, i hate to read an unfinished story, see a movie with the end, read a comic with the last volume.
i need the end to tell me that i have finished something and i can pursue another mission, book, movie.

sadly, as i thought i could finish reading this novel one night, it ended up only half of the story and
i have to wait for a loooooooooooooooooooong time for the other half, which would be releashed i do not know when.

after complaining about the unfinished story, there is still other things to be angry at.

this last work of 京極夏彥 shows how a diligent teacher the author becoems day after day.
he is unable to stop preaching his philosophy of subjectivity, reality, naming, history,...
he just could not give the readers a break and give them an "easy" story to enjoy.

it seems like the author is exactly the representative of the protagonist of the story (every story...)
talktive, murmuring, monologue-lover...

after reading all my anti-recommendation about him, you could still give it a try and i would praise you for doing so.

the story is fun and complicated indeed.
but the lecture is also annoying

春宵苦短少女前進吧!

 

it is definitely a very interesting novel,
i am kind of hard to decide whether i like it or not
basically it is a magic-realistic literary work
(trust me, i did not invent this term for it)
(it is written on the book cover and book reviews)

the story is about a weird love story between two
college young men.

the protagonist is a otaku and the author himself is as well.

the story written by an otaku.....
well you could image how otaku it is

so ,...it is interesting but a little bit too
weird for me.

probably those otaku would like it

藤田宜永--轉轉

the reason we read this novel is kind of complicated.
bacause we watch the Japanese soap opera 時效警察 and were amazed by
the wonderful plot and character.

then we found out that the director had a film work in which
he adopted the same team.

then we found out that the film is adapted from a novel
finally the novel i discuss here.

however this chain effect has a very serious problem
that is
the order is confused.
for me, i finished the novel before watching the film
and it makes the film less attractive

also, the reading of the novel is kind of flat as well,
for the success of the soap opera is due to those amazing characters and
the director.

that is,
we totally overestimate the novel and the adapted film...

still to those unfamiliar with Japapnese novel,
it could be interesting

伊坂幸太郎--fish story

 

the system of blogger is definitely fulling me recently.
either the absence of the pic or the failure of upload the pics.

it really drives me crazy.
as i mentioned in the previous article,i've amlost finisned reading all
of the author's novel.
(probably it would be a huge pity that i could not read Japanese)

however, if i have to compare them, i would say this one is kind of more interesting
than the Devil.

this one is composed of some short stories and
some of them are really touching and moving

Fox loves the last story aboht family love
as for me,


i have to admit
i love it as well

still, some of the stories are over artificual
such as the one with the Justice superman

伊坂幸太郎--魔王

sounds amazing. I've read most of the author's works.
this one is......just like his other works.
surprising, interesting, and funny.

I've read one comment saying, "if you feel young while reading his works, that's because the author is really young."

that's true.
even though i am not familiar with some of the music he wrote,
i could always enjoy the aura he creates.

I still high'y recommend his works, though they are similar

偷書賊

actually, it seems to be my second time reading this novel. Do I like it? It's hard to say. In terms of its designation, the author definitely seeks to create something new-- the book inside the book, which is also a fable as a recording as the suffering of a jew. the attemp is obvious and the ambition is grand. As for the other aspects, such as the plot and the depictino of the characters, well, I have to say, I am not a big fan of it. The most interesting character is certainly the adopted father with a pair of beautiful gray eyes who died after returning from the warbattle. the death of the adopted parents and nice neighbors is by no means touching and painful. All in all, probably the novel comes in a bad timing. I mean, recently I devoted myself in Japanese detective novel.

丹布朗之大騙局

i did not expect to read this sequence in such a long time.

probably, it is because the reading experience of his previous books has revealt

his unique pattern, which reduces the sense of exciting and itneresting hugely.

so, it is great to read this one at this time being.

the whole strcture is different and this time

the writer uses female character to be the main character

(as a reference, Fox does not agree with me,

he thinks the same pattern still exists and could be obseved easily)

still, with the writer usual combination of science, military and politic issues ,

the work is very alluring and invites the readers to finish it as soon as possible.

moreover, i really think the writer is always expecting the filmic adaptation to

his writing, for the plot and the designation is so visualized.

readers can easily draw the picture of the happenings and even

predict the possible candicates for each character.

as a detective novel, it is very successful.

and as a educational book, i think it does not fail to surprise the readers

with new foundings and knowledges.

even though what Dan describes is usually seudo-scientific, it is very inspiring to

civilans who lack knowledge of high tech!

米蘭昆德拉:生命中不可承受之輕

I did not expect to read this book in this circumstance. I meam while half awake and half rush. this is the possible text book for the absurd ltierature course. even though i can not know for sure if it is going to happen. of course, i've heard this book. it seems to be a necessity for ltierary students to know it. however my delay encountering with it never bothers me a lot. Certainly i am full aware the significance of both the work and the author, still, i am reluctant to read it earlier. i gusee it is the sense of rebellion that drives me away from it for a long time. anyway, i did read it these days and found i was right before. that is, it is impossible for me to LOVe it. i do appreciate the excellent writing skill, (maybe i should not even say so, for i read the Chinese version) and the ambition to relate to various things in the novel. Yes! the author is ambitious and this is probably the best word i cound use to describe him. he is so ambitious that he juxtapose numerous isses. human beings and animal; love; rebellion, nature and human beings, religion and human beings; homosexual, erotic, political affair, WW2, communism, urban life and country life, alienation, .............. Yes, what an ambitious writer!

拉森二部曲-玩火的女孩

like my reading experience of Ian's novel,

the disorder of the consequence causes me lots of trouble in

totally understanding the story.

Stieg Larsson is now considered as the talented novelist whose work concentrates

on the issue of female abuse and teenager criminal isses.

Also due to the designation of the heroine, an obvious psycho

(no matter how the author defends his own creation, I still think this little girl is a psycho!)

I originally misrecognized the authr as a female novelist.

In contrast, he is a male "reporter"!

well, his background does explain how he could have

so much knowledge about fossil industry and other "political"

isses.

As for the story itself, hmmmmmmmmm,

i do enjoy the fast pace and the delicate explanation of the movement of each character in the same time--

by the way, this kind of writing strategy always satisfies me,

readers who wants to know everything during the event.

still, i do not buy the heroine herself (ha~~~~~~~)

it is hard to believe a young woman (152cm, 42kg) could

"fight with the world"?

if Larsson had made his heroine less talented, the story might be more realistic

how could we imagin a extremely talented girl who could be a

hack and an expert of close fight at the same time?

at least, for me, it is so questionable.

I am still waiting for the first novel of the Millennium series

and expect to change my opinion for the time being.

Still, the novel is alluring for I finished it in no more than two days, which is around 560 pages long!

伊恩藍欽-黑與藍

THis novel comes from Tracy's recommendation. According to her, anyone who is interested in detective novel should not miss it! Accepting her suggestion, it took me a while to borrow the books from the school library. actually, it is quite different from my recent reading experience of Japanese detective novels ,which tends to be less bloody but more lighthearted depiction of the characters and the events. (I must be confused somehow, for I start writing this article several days ago to find out that I haven't finished it at all. I simply mistake it as the other novel. ) Now after more few days, I finally finish reading it and can really talk about my feeling. that is, it is sooooooooooooo complicated! probably it is because I did not follow the chronological order of Ian's books, yet the plot itself is so complex and is filled with tooooooooooooooo many characters and events. it makes me hard to understand the main issue, but keep seeing out hero geting in and getting out one after another bars. Even though, he does try to keep sober in this episode. still, the whole thing is so not my type and the ending is kind of disappointing to me as well. I could not believe that the author let go the murder (I know it is for the benefit of the sequence). Still this decision makes me really down for a while. I suddenly find out that I expect more for the moral responsibility of the detective novels than i thought i was. SO, unless you really like to play the game with the author, you may simply enjoy the plot instead of trying to figure out what was happened in every details

伊恩藍欽-瀑布

due to the recommendation from Miss lovely Tracy,

I start to read this detective novel written by Ian Rankin.

This author is quite famous recently, for his delicate depiction of the complicated murder event

and intriguingly portrait of the characters.

The main hero of the story, also the main character

for his Revus-series work, is Rebus the Inspector

who frequently, just like other miserable and busy heros of detective novels,

runs into strange accidents and exhausts himself to solve the problem.

Interestingly, Rebus is bo no means a start, easygoing, optimistic person;

on the other hand, he seems to be a very

negative, aged and heavy drinker.

He tends to transgress the common rules in doing research and

is considered the number one trouble maker by his supervisors and colleagues.

Back to the plot of the Falls, it depicts the mysterious absence of

a wealthy college student whose parents owns a bank and

whose boyfriend is immediately listed as the most possible murderer of her death.

Rankin smartly handles many storylines at the same time, and hardly lost the focus of the story.

By combining various characters with individual personality,

the author provides the readers chance to

choose whichever character they would identify with.

Also, the author is aware of the balence of the number of female and male characters

probably, i am over interpreting her; still, i think this is a good and wise way to

invite female readers.

Moreover, it is also possible for him to make a transitino to write a serie hosting by a female

detective anytime.

As a reviewer, I am always reluctant to relate to the content of the story,

especially for a detective story.

Still I recommand Rankin's works to those who have the leisure time,

since his novels are quite long.

一個作家之死

the death of a writer 蘇玉珍 the ex-wife of 苦苓
well the end of a marriage seems to initiate the birth of a new writer
if one could consider Su as a "writer"

anyway, this is an era in which everyone could publish his/her work in
his/her own money

i accidently read part of this part in TKU liberary while I was waiting for my composition class
certainly it was the title of the writer which aroused my interest at that time
to show my respect of the writer, i start with the preface and the introduction written by 施寄青
gradually I found out that I was going to read a copy of erotic literature (?)
it is a record (well, the writer herself denies it, but who believes her?) of the marriage
of a popular "male"writer with his wife , which was full of the husband's love affair "s"

indeed, she is a bold writer who dares to challange the viewpoint of readers
what I cannot understand or I should even say forgive is
she is publishing, selling, and taking adventage of her husband.

sure, 苦苓 is by no means a stranger of this kind of propaganda
but SEX ...........
and writing it into articles ........

as an attack and revenge to her ex-husband,
Su's book might hardly be a successful attempt and
could hurt herself reversely.

Just to support my opinion,
right after her publication,
there is a scandal about her sharing a man with another woman on newspaper.

well well well
free to pursue her sexuality and love .......
unlike her husband..

Nineteen Minutes by Judi Picoult

Actually I should not even try to rent a novel in my Chinese Lantern vocation back in Tainan, for
I still have hundreds of pages need to read. The new life and the new schedule definitely has stressed me somehow.

This is not Picoult's first novel and I hesitated a little to decide which one I should borrow first.
Is her very first boo? Or this one with the high recommentation?
Finally, I'd rather to start with something more common and popular
in cass it would ruin my vocation of its weight and boringness

the novel talks about an massacra happened in a senior high campus, which is designated by a constantly bullied boy
with her extraordinary writing skill, Picoult intertwines the different time period of the event.
However her strategy only makes the story clearer and reasonable

she depicts the mental activity of the teenager murderer delicately and sophisticatedly
moreover, unlike other writers who tend to ignore or weaken the dramatic effect of the end, for their focus
is to record the mind of the murderer or the victim.
Picoult prepares a surprising ending for the readers, and I believe this is what makes the novel so amazing

宮部美幸--勇者物語

真的是世界無敵長的長篇

一共有80萬各字

看的我真是驚呼連連 又絕得很不對時

因為 這真的是在寫小朋友像是在玩rpg遊戲依班的情結

當然還是有不少感人的 說教的 還有小故事

可是

整體而言 應該就是寫給小朋友看的

難怪他後來也改編成漫畫版了

不難看 可是看的我有點傻眼

只能說宮部真的很愛寫小朋友壓...

宮部美幸-RPG

compare these two Janapese novelists

both of them are good at writing detective novels

both of them are welcomed by comtemporary readers

to me,

i like them both, for each of them has their individual interest

and concern

while 宮部 tends to depict younger children (usually are boys and girls) and social issues, 伊坂 shows his talent on complex narrative structure and deliberately confusing time consequence.

however in this novel

i read for the first time 宮部's attempt to play a game with the readers.

that is,

she constructs her story as RPG game

which means Role Play Game.

the combination of the plot and the narrative form

is so smart that I could not help but reading this novel

for several times.

Also located the story in very limited locus,

宮部shows us her ability to say what she means to say in

long dialogues instead of exciting actions.

anyway,

i enjoy reading this novel very much

and it is possibily the most interesting one recently.

伊坂幸太郎--孩子們

i often feel that reading does save me in many occasions

for instance,

when i do not want to write my paper

or

when i do not want to write my paper

or when i do not want to write my paper

YEs! that's right!

reading is the best excuse to everything,

especially studying...

this novel is another masterpiece

in which the author confuses the time sequence

and complicates the plot with nuerous characters and

storylines.

Indeed,

the author's signature writing style could often

bores the readers who read evey work of him

however, i am lucky that i haven't got that kind of feeling

and am still fascinated by it.

the only thing I feel uncomfortable about the novel

is that

the so-called children are actually pretty old!

to me they are more like teenagers and

i expect to read about younger children.

這本好像其實算是宮部早期的作品了
我絕得非常好看 又是另一個系列的故事
想起來 宮佈的偵探還真多呀
而且一定都要是死老百姓
他這是在鼓勵我門
全民皆偵探嗎

很快的珍的是幾乎要把伊坂的所有書都看完了

好可怕啊

好難看押

大概跟鴨川荷爾摩有的乒

share the same feeling with the novelist.

he writes,

we've seen too many people who are constantly saying that even though

they are lazy rignt now

-- they would be active and engertic as times come and have no doublt that they could fix it perfectly--

這本書是去圖書館借宮部+伊坂的書的時候

正好放在旁邊而拿的

這個人名 伊點也不陌生

畢竟許多推理作家都得要像他致敬伊下

不過真正翻開來看

還是讓我花了好伊會而 才能搞清楚時間背景

因為書上寫的可是在戰後區區10多年後的兇殺案

和之前的作品時再是太不一樣

作為伊各"社會派"的推理小說家

看了他的作品 完全可以體會這樣的稱號從哪來的

確實是非常平時的再敘述一各故事

而且偏好

人性的掙扎

隊與錯很難分

也好像沒有必要區分

可是又伊頂得走向那箇中點

或者 說是 "焦點"?

很有古味的伊本書

伊坂幸太郎--奧杜邦的祈禱

一鎮子這樣瘋狂的看小說下來

不麻痺也難

不過這本書 非常特別

大概就是正如他書上寫的

很有黑色電影的fu

追求"理由"的人

到最後遇到的都釋很讓人感到有興味的解釋

珍的是一本非常讓人覺得愉快而有創意的書

相形之下還會決德

ㄟ

伊坂隻後都在幹麻鴨

總之 非常推薦

不能錯過!
